Shadow Work Healing

"To understand the shadow, is to understand the way of life"

Common questions-

What is the shadow?
The shadow is a concept of a part of ourselves that is hidden like a shadow. A part of us that is constructed from repressing traumas and emotions and burying them deep within- Usually derived from childhood.

My story-
I thought I understood myself.  My understanding was that I was the problem. I was the thing that needed fixing. When I found shadow work, I held extreme blame and guilt for myself and for the life I had created. My childhood was extremely blocked and my first attempts at shadow work were not simple. I felt stuck, confused, and extremely uncomfortable. It wasn't until working through a shadow worksheet I found online, that I was able to unlock the start of my awakening and understanding of my shadow.
With this worksheet, there was a certain question that triggered a past wound that I had been so unaware of and suppressing internally. This realisation was the key to unlocking a traumatic memory of my childhood, which was causing ripple affects and patterns to occur throughout my life.
This is now a regular practice of mine. Quite often when I do a workbook,  journal, or meditate with a certain question designed to trigger the unconscious mind (my shadow), a new memory will come forth that I've unknowingly been suppressing.

Through shadow work practices, you too, can unlock parts of yourself you think you have lost access to. You to can understand what it means to be you, and the truth behind it all.

Do you find yourself asking these questions-
Why can't I remember my childhood?
Why am I emotionally exhausted all the time?
Why do I continue to attract negative/ toxic people into my life?

Then I invite you to grow deep with me.

Yoga & Meditation

"To fall in love with yoga, is to fall in love with yourself"

I began my Asana (Yoga posture) journey 6 years ago. I had an injured lower back from weight training and wanted some relief. I still remember my first yoga class. The euphoria as I left the room floating. I couldn't stay away.

I believed Yoga was all about flexibility and strength, and I for a long time pushed myself to be the best, to hold the longest, to fold the deepest, until one day, I experienced a 90 minute class, which had Breathwork (Pranayama) and Meditation (Pratyahara).

I realised that Postures only scratched the surface on the entirety of yoga. I realised that withdrawing from internal and external pressure, withdrawing from the need to be the best and the strongest, overcoming the idea of how something should look, and turning my focus inward- listening to my body, controlling my breath, and there fore controlling my mindstate, was more powerful and useful than anything I had come to learn so far.

Thus began my true yoga journey.
I completed my Yoga Teacher Training, still with only a fraction of an idea of how powerful yoga as a whole truly was.

And now, today, I teach yoga with the goal of not just external growth and strength, but a huge focus on the internal.

I teach not only Asana, but Meditation, Breathwork, Mindfulness, Self regulation, Self love and Self expression, all whilst on the mat.

I believe yoga in every one of its forms,  are a way of life, a way of love, and the way for all.

Nervous System Regulation

"Learning to regulate the nervous system, is learning to unconditionally love and care for yourself"

Your nervous system plays a role in everything you are. From your intelligence, memory, movement, learnings and senses. The nervous system even plays a part in your basic body functions of breathing and the heartbeat.

The nervous system as a whole is made up of the brain, spinal cord and a complex network of nerves. To which the nervous system sends signals and messages throughout through these nerve in the body, which then results in good or bad responses, to which the body as a whole then reacts to.

Good responses, lead us to a healthy state, allowing us to walk through life happy, calm and free.
Bad responses, lead us into trauma response mode- our fight or flight reactions- which causes us to feel fragile, unhappy, afraid and overall unhealthy.

If your nervous system is dysregulated, you are unable to live your life with ease. You are unable to make decisions, unable to communicate properly, unable to love or be loved healthily.

By doing exercises to regulate your nervous system, and by being aware of the nervous systems ways of reacting, you can build yourself back to a desired level of freedom and happiness.
Being in control of your nervous system, means taking control of your life, with the end goal of unconditional love and self contentment.

Somatics helped me to find my inner world, and to work with it to breakthrough of any unhealthy patterns or triggers that would send me into my trauma responses of fight or flight.

Through my Somatic and Trauma healing studies, I have been able to curate and carefully compose tips, tricks and helpful routines to help with regulating and alleviating any internal stress, undealt with emotions, or suppressed trauma that may be causing known or unknown grief or pain.
